In the framework of their Cosimena project on "Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa", the DAAD Regional Office Cairo together with El Ezz El-Dekheila Steel Company (Ezz Steel) organized a joint seminar on "The Gap between Theoretical Education at Egyptian Universities and the Practical Needs of the Labour Market: A Search for Solutions". On Jan 30 and Feb 1, 2024, around 50 specialists from academia and industry met in Alexandria to analyze the situation and to discuss possible approaches.

Prof. Sikora was invited to give an overview on "The German Universities of Applied Sciences and Their Approach to Practical Higher Education and Applied Research" and to participate in the final panel discussion to wrap-up the two-days seminar.
