CORTISSS stands for "Continuous Research, Development & Teaching on Internet of Things for Sustainable, Secure, and Safe Communities". The project is carried out by the College of Information Engineering (COIE) at Al-Nahrain University and the Institute for Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics (ivESK) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences.
Within this event, a Symposium on "The Emerging of Industrial IoT and 5G Towards Sustainable, Secure, and Safe Communities" was organized by Dr. Ammar Al-Gassab from COIE. Speakers were Dr. Embed Al-Hemiari from COIE, Dr. Nabeel Sulieman from the state-owned Information and Telecommunication Public Company (ITPC), looking after the public backbone and access infrastructure in Iraq, and Axel Sikora from ivESK.
Further activities included the review of the achieved results in lab implementation and research, the refined planning of the involved Ph.D. topics and the preparation of the next year's proposal for a continued and extended cooperation.
