In 2023, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offered for the first time the scholarship program "Combined Study and Practical Stay for Engineers from Developing Countries" (KOSPIE) with funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Under this program, young engineering and computer science students from Tunisia can complete a six-month study and practical stay at selected German universities to conduct research for their final thesis. The selected German universities for the 2023 cohort include the Technical University of Chemnitz, the Technical University of Dresden, the University of Passau, and the University of Stuttgart, as well as the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. Six Tunisian students are therefore currently visiting the Institute for Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and the Hahn-Schickard Institute in Villingen-Schwenningen. On June 23, 2023, Claudia Garbers and Philipp Effertz, Head of Unit at the DAAD in Bonn, now visited the university, the students and their supervisors.
