For years, the Institute of Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics (ivESK) has been involved in the design, implementation and validation of security solutions for communication at the field level. In this context, ivESK is active in the standardization of future-oriented security protocols, including in the Security Working-Group CB/PG 10 of PROFIBUS and PROFINET International (PI) and in CAN in Automation e.V. (CiA).
In a paper, published by Julian Göppert, researcher and PhD student at ivESK, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora, scientific director of ivESK, a concept and implementation for the management of public-key certificates in CANopen FD networks is proposed. The publication has been accepted for the International Conference on Industrial Informatics (INDIN) 2024 in Beijing, one of the flagship-events of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES). The publication received the Best Application Paper Award.
