The successful kick-off event took place at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) in Berlin. Building on the success of the CampusOS project, xG-ALOE brings together more than 40 partners from industry, research and start-ups to drive innovation in the field of Open RAN and private 5G networks. The aim of the initiative is to provide test environments, promote collaboration and strengthen an open, modular technology approach.
Possible topics for future working groups include:

▪️ Security in Open RAN
▪️ Positioning & #Sensing
▪️ Hardware reference architectures for O-RAN and Edge Cloud
▪️ Energy efficiency and optimization of RIC/SMO
The ivESK of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences is registered as a partner, and Prof. Dr. Axel Sikora and Manuel Schappacher took part in the kickoff meeting. Prof. Sikora was also confirmed as an academic member of the steering committee.
