Third SUDEM project meeting in Ankara

On May 8 and 9, 2025, the third physical project meeting for the SUDEM project took place at the Turkish project partner AFAD in Ankara.

The SUDEM project partners at the AFAD crisis center in Ankara

The two-year project, funded under the Erasmus+ programme KA220-HED (Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education), deals with education and training around the digitalization of processes for "Sustainable Disaster and Emergency Management".

Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı, or AFAD for short, is Turkey's disaster management authority, which is also responsible for international humanitarian aid. During the meeting, it was also possible to visit the national monitoring and control centers, which are primarily used to monitor earthquakes and coordinate responses.
