The two-year project, funded under the Erasmus+ programme KA220-HED (Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education), deals with education and training around the digitalization of processes for "Sustainable Disaster and Emergency Management".
Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı, or AFAD for short, is Turkey's disaster management authority, which is also responsible for international humanitarian aid. During the meeting, it was also possible to visit the national monitoring and control centers, which are primarily used to monitor earthquakes and coordinate responses.
